Cold Email Outreach for Singapore B2B: The 2026 Playbook

30-second version

Cold email is not spam when it's relevant, targeted, and sent from a properly configured domain. Most Singapore B2B businesses are leaving serious pipeline on the table by either not doing it or doing it wrong.

Cold email is the most misunderstood B2B channel in Singapore. Done badly, it's spam that damages your domain reputation and gets you nowhere. Done correctly — with the right infrastructure, targeted lists, and genuine personalisation — it's a predictable way to book qualified meetings with decision-makers you'd never reach otherwise.

Is cold email legal in Singapore?

Yes, with conditions. Singapore's Spam Control Act permits B2B cold email to business contacts when you include your identity, a valid address, and an unsubscribe mechanism, and honour opt-out requests within 10 days. The key: email a business contact in a professional capacity about something relevant to their business — not bulk spam.

Step 1: Set up a separate sending domain

Never send cold outreach from your primary business domain. If your campaign generates spam complaints — even a well-run one will — you don't want that damaging the domain your website and transactional emails live on. Register a variation: if yourbusiness.sg is your main domain, register yourbusiness.com or outreach.yourbusiness.sg for sending.

Step 2: Configure SPF, DKIM, and DMARC

  • SPF: tells receiving servers which IPs are authorised to send from your domain
  • DKIM: adds a cryptographic signature proving emails genuinely came from you
  • DMARC: ties SPF and DKIM together. Set to p=none initially, tighten over time
  • Verify at mail-tester.com before sending anything — aim for 9/10+

Step 3: Warm the domain for 2–3 weeks

A new domain has zero sending reputation. Sending 200 cold emails on day one gets you flagged immediately. Use a warming tool (Instantly, Lemlist, Smartlead all include this) that gradually exchanges emails with a network of real inboxes, building a positive sending history.

Step 4: Build a targeted list

500 precisely targeted contacts will outperform 5,000 vague ones. Singapore-specific sourcing: LinkedIn Sales Navigator (best for firmographic filtering), Apollo.io (verified emails, free tier), ACRA company searches (for registered entities), and industry association directories.

Step 5: Write emails that get replies

  • Line 1: specific personalised observation about them (not "I came across your profile")
  • Line 2: connect to a relevant problem without assuming they have it
  • Line 3: one-line value proposition and specific outcome
  • Line 4: one low-friction ask ("Would a quick 15-minute chat make sense?")

Total email: under 100 words. Plain text only — no HTML templates. It should look like a real person sent it, because it is.

Sequence structure

EmailTimingAngle
Email 1Day 0Personalised opening, one clear ask
Email 2Day 3–4Brief follow-up — add a data point or case study
